EURid - - is the not-for-profit organisation appointed by the European Commission to operate the .eu, .ею (in Cyrillic) and .ευ (in Greek) top-level domains.

The .eu domain ranks among the 10 largest top-level domains in the world and almost 4 million .eu names have been registered since the domain opened for registration in 2005.

EURid's mission is:
- to promote the .eu TLD across the European Union and third countries
- to organise, administer and manage the .eu TLD in the general public interest and ensure in all aspects of the
administration and management of the .eu TLD, high quality, transparency, security, stability, predictability,
reliability, accessibility, efficiency, non-discrimination, fair conditions of competition and consumer protection.

EURid is headquartered in Belgium (Diegem), and has satellite offices in the Czech Republic, Italy and Sweden.   • As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of the IT infrastructure of EURid, consisting of network, security, server and storage hardware as well as business critical in house developed software solutions. EURid designs and builds its own registration system software, which is open for business on the Internet 24 hours a day running on in-house maintained infrastructure hosted in different datacenters across Europe and servers around the world.
  • As a member of the Management Team, you manage projects with team leaders, plan, follow-up and report to the Management Team and the General Manager.
  • Responsibilities

  • You manage and motivate operations, support and developer IT staff. 
  • You supervise employee knowledge, expertise and capacity. 
  • You enable and guide professional growth and optimise contribution to the company.
  • You report status and progress on strategic and budgeted targets.
  • You lead short and long term evolutions of IT infrastructure, engage with potential partners and vendors and solicit offers.
  • You take ownership and you propose IT infrastructure evolution changes to the Management Team.
  • You coordinate the use of internal personnel and external vendor support and third party consultants to optimise maintenance and support.
  • Profile

  • Master degree in computer science or equivalent by experience
  • Must haves: a passion for IT, excellent people management skills, strong communicator
  • Relevant work experience of at least 6 years in managing an IT department of 20 people
  • Hands-on approach
  • Strong broad technical experience (virtualisation, enterprise storage, redundant network infrastructure, firewall and security solutions, VPN technology, cloud technology, database technology...)
  • Strong experience of Linux systems (good experience implementing Internet facing, always on solutions)
  • Experience managing Windows based workforce, spread across 4 countries and support on premise and cloud based Microsoft services
  • Sound Internet technology knowledge in general and DNS specifically
  • Very result oriented
  • Good time management coupled with excellent communication skills
  • Strong sense of ownership in the timely resolution of issues and completion of project tasks
  • A 'freak' who is always looking for the latest IT evolutions
  • Being able to see the ‘big picture’ and understand the business
  • Fluent in English and either Dutch or French
