The group of Belgian independent companies closed 2022 with a consolidated turnover of 22,9 million EUR . Over the past five years, turnover increased by 50%, mainly in the accountancy and consultancy segments, and by responding thoughtfully to digitalisation and hands-on tax advice. The creation of the 'Corporate Finance' department also led to growth in the M&A, business transfer, family and succession planning market.

To support its continuous growth, Baker Tilly Belgium is currently looking for 2 senior profiles at manager and/or director level with specialisation in Accounting/Audit who are seeking a short path to Equity Partner.

  • What impact will you make?

  • You will leverage your Accounting or Audit, Financial and Risk management expertise in an advisory role to clients on a broad basis when it comes to assessing and improving control environment, finance transformations and audit & accounting advisory (technical accounting, audit readiness...).
  • You will work in an innovative team of enthusiastic professionals, eager to learn about the newest challenges clients are facing, and the best possible solutions to help clients excel. You will collaborate with tax, digital and consulting specialists to successfully cover Accounting or Audit, Financial & Risk Advisory elements in multidisciplinary projects. Next to advisory projects, you also provide technical audit and controls specialist support to Audit teams. You will identify opportunities with existing and new clients, develop commercial proposals and expand the client relation. 
  • Responsibilities

  • Ensure client satisfaction through engagement and interaction with client executives and engagement sponsors.
  • Be accessible and anticipate client needs, questions, and issues.
  • Schedule internal and external deadlines to meet client expectations for delivery.
  • Display broad understanding of activities and interests of other disciplines and play pivotal role in gaining client interest.
  • Handle heavy load, including complex/demanding clients.
  • Deliver quality services in both routine and complex situations requiring innovation while being sought out as a consulting resource.
  • Understand the company’s strategy, practice areas, and service offerings and participate in proposals and presentations leading to new engagements.
  • Be a trusted advisor to public and private clients to assist with accounting, financial reporting and internal control matters.
  • Provide technical accounting advice, prepare detailed calculations and manage projects such as revenue recognition and related costs, leases, current expected credit losses, stock-based compensation, equity…
  • Assist clients with the accounting and reporting aspects of transactions including acquisitions, equity, and debt, drafting private and public company financial statements, in preparing for and completing audits, and liaising with the auditors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues in the office, other service lines, and engagement/project teams.
  • Play a major role in the implementation of technical/industry/functional programs while being acknowledged as an expert in the company.
  • Contribute to the company’s efforts to attract, retain, and develop staff and act as mentor.
  • Profile

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, controlling, economics…
  • Certified as a Chartered Accountant (for the accounting position).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a combination of private accounting audit, corporate financial accounting and/or finance process consulting and/or auditing, financial & risk management.
  • 3+ years of experience in managing and supervising teams, including strong on-the-job training skills and a desire to teach.
  • Proven leadership, communication, project management, and team building skills.
  • Strong technical skills and a working knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and Stock reporting.
  • Experience leading large or simultaneous client engagements or internal projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
  • Must be highly organised and capable of managing multiple tasks in a complex, dynamic environment.
  • Strong focus on quality through a critical attitude and social involvement.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office.
  • Tri-lingual: Dutch, French, English.
