The essence of transition management: context, context and more context - De Tijd
Some consultants argue that the search for a leadership figure in the context of "transition management" differs from a traditional search for executives in two important ways. The position must be filled more quickly and candidates must immediately meet all job requirements.
Wim De Mulder, partner at Accord Group, does not entirely agree. 'Those who limit themselves to this perspective lose sight of a crucial feature: determining what level of complexity the manager will have to manage.'
'Transition managers can be given very different assignments: process optimization, strategic development, identity development. Most leaders don't feel comfortable having to manage complexity at all those levels. They have a preferred level of complexity at which they are comfortable and at which they perform optimally.'
