As an international manufacturer of store shelving, they develop, produce and install quality, elegant and ingenious solutions for store interiors. With 4 operational branches (De Kimpe, Gondella BE, Gondella CZ and Frontend Retail Solutions) they strive to offer state-of-the-art total solutions to their customers.
Given the changing needs of the organisation, the need for professionalisation and the ambition to grow further, it is important to prepare the sales department for the future. From the drive to further profile itself internationally and in particular to further develop the Spanish and Portuguese markets, Gondella wishes to proceed with the recruitment of a (Junior) Sales Engineer to further strengthen the sales team. Gondella Iberia SL is currently in the process of being incorporated in order to build solid local presence, to drive direct sales to the Spanish and Portuguese retail and to allow improved delivery of products and services. Gondella Iberia SL will be established in Madrid during the first half of 2021.

YOUR ROLE

  • The marketing and sales of retail store fittings to the retail sector (metal and wooden retail furniture, check outs and cash register systems) requiring a strong technical knowledge and insight ("consultativeselling") in order to strengthen and further expand the market share of the Gondella organisation in Spain and Portugal. 

  • Key result area:
  • Identify and contact prospects in order to further develop the customer portfolio and the turnover.
  • Maintaining and further expanding the existing commercial contacts with customers belonging to his/her customer portfolio in order to achieve the planned turnover within the planned budget and time horizon.
  • Developing and preparing quotations, in consultation with the Sales Manager in order to offer appropriate pricing and conditions for the customer and the organisation.
  • Analysing the needs of the customer, eventually in cooperation with internal technical experts, and proposing the right technical solutions in order to be able to optimally respond to the needs and expectations of the customer.
  • Conclusion of contracts with customers, taking into account the existing product range, pricing, delivery times, etc. to reflect all agreements between the customers and the organisation in accordance with the legislation.
  • Drawing up technical quotations and negotiating tailor-made solutions for the customer, in close cooperation with the Sales Manager and taking into account the technical specifications, the pricing, the delivery times, ... in order to be able to convince new customers or retain existing ones.
  • Providing a strong follow-up and aftercare of the closed deal and the technical support of the customers in the delivery of the product or the after-sales service in order to contribute to customer satisfaction.
  • Keep himself/herself constantly informed of the evolutions within the field, keep his/her knowledge up-to-date in function of the new developments in order to strengthen his/her credibility by offering a service that is continuously based on updated knowledge.

PROFILE

  • A pragmatic attitude and a hands-on entrepreneurialmentality
  • Solution-oriented, able to work both autonomously and in a team
  • Customer-oriented with a clear experience in selling technical products
  • Experience in retail is a plus
  • Experience in store refurbishment / remodelling is a plus
  • Willingness to travel in Iberia
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, Portuguese is a plus

CONTEXT

  • Reports to the Sales Manager (no direct reports)
  • Master's degree in technical or economic sciences - Minimum 3 years of experience in a B2B environment required
  • Based in Madrid at Gondella Iberia LS
  • Belgian parent organisation with an extensive product range
  • Provides technical advice to existing and potential customers
